With every sector of the market recording losses, the Australian wool market has fallen in Week 45 after 47,558 bales were offered for sale.
The opening day of selling (Tuesday) provided mixed results with better style wool recording little change and those with lesser styles trending downward, as the AWEX Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) fell by eight cents overall.
Prices continued to fall as the sale progressed, with Merino fleece MPGs in the Western region finishing below those in Sydney and Melbourne.
These losses, combined with falls in the other sectors, pushed the EMI down by a further 15 cents to close the week at 1,319 cents, an overall loss of 23 cents.
The price reductions were met with seller resistance, pushing the national passed in rate up to 15.3 per cent, nine per cent higher than the previous week.
